Frequently asked questions

COMPATIBILITY
Does it work with my ECU?
If your ECU talks CAN and you have its dictionary (DBC), yes. If there's no DBC, we build it from the manufacturer's documentation. With MaxxECU, remote access for MTune is also available.
Can I keep the sensors I already have?
Yes: everything that goes through the ECU reaches the display. GPS, TPMS and driver tags are read directly by the display, without going through the ECU.
Which screen do I need?
The display outputs HDMI to screens of various formats; alternatively there's the optional 7" touch panel as a second screen. We'll recommend the right screen for your cockpit and regulations.
Can I change the graphics?
Yes, a lot: data boxes, colours, rev zones, visible bars and icons, team logo at boot, one style per driver. Everything is described on the Tailored page.
ON TRACK
What if there's no internet at the track?
The display works fully offline: dash, alarms, lap times and configurator are all on board. The connection is needed for the Factory, telemetry and live video; when it comes back, queued data is sent automatically.
What connection do I need for live?
An on-board router with a mobile network or Starlink. The car connects to the Factory through an encrypted tunnel that works even behind carrier NAT: no public address or open ports needed.
Can the driver change something by mistake?
Configuration is changed from the web configurator, not from the wheel. Every save is a revision: if something's wrong, go back to the previous one in one click.
UPDATES & SECURITY
Can an update brick the display?
It's designed so that it can't: the update is written to the copy of the system that isn't in use, and if the new version doesn't confirm it works, the display goes back to the previous one on its own.
Who decides when to update?
You, together with us. Updates never start during an event: we schedule them between races.
Can anyone connect to my car?
No. The car exposes no services on the paddock network: it calls the Factory, with its own certificate. Remote access only goes through the encrypted service network.
DATA
Who owns the telemetry data?
You do. The Factory stores it for your team and shares it with no one. Full telemetry is recorded only during scheduled events.
Can I export the data?
Yes, telemetry and CAN traces can be exported to your analysis tools.
COMMERCIAL
What does the managed service include?
Infrastructure, certificates, service network, updates, configuration backups and remote assistance. You use the portal, we keep everything behind it running.
Can I add options later?
Yes, at any time. Options are licences enabled remotely: the car receives them within minutes.
Do you install it?
Yes, at our premises or in your workshop. We prepare channels, alarms and layout beforehand, so on installation day the display is already yours.
Can I try it first?
Of course: we give you Factory access with a virtual car, and if you like we can arrange a test on a real car.
